12/25/2023 0 Comments Games like the division 2You can storm a building and find that it has been overrun by a completely different faction than the one you were supposed to fight, or an escort mission can lead you into the middle of a gang war. However, what tends to make them differ here is just how little control you often have over the situation itself. It's the common or garden system we all know and love, with some major ones, some minor ones, and quite a few which feature secondary objectives. Many ongoing struggles and battles in games like The Division are easily divided up into separate individual quests. Unfortunately, it's either you or them in this fight, and there can be no easy answer. Everyone has their own tale just like yours and every time you put a bullet in someone's head or steal food for yourself, that's another life you're ending. It pushes to make it clear that everyone you fight has a face and that, outside of the governmental troops, few signed up for this. Seeing a city fall inward upon itself or torn apart by feuding factions is nothing entirely new, yet fewer still ask "So what happens to the people here?" Whether it's set amid a MMO environment against hundreds of other players or a simulated network of NPCs, your actions have consequences here. The single biggest appeal of such similar games stems from how they approach the subject of an urban state of decay. It's a harrowing experience and a desperate one to be sure, games like The Division manage to reflect this in an unprecedented scale. It doesn't matter if roving bands of humans survive or remnants of any old governments exist, conflict will follow, as everyone betrays those closest to them. There is one simple truth about any post-apocalyptic or post disaster story story: When society falls, everyone will turn on one another.
